Started as a Clerk lll for a busy organization specializing in community health providing services such as Podiatry, OBGYN, Pediatrics, BH, WIC, Pharmacy, Optometry and more. Duties included answering multiple phone lines, checking patients in and out, scanning, filing, assisting MA’s and providers when needed, managed and scheduled appointments, mastered Nextgen EHR system, processed incoming faxes, e-fax knowledge and obtained patient test results. In 2017 I was promoted to Safety Control and Emergency Preparedness Coordinator who promotes a culture of safety and team building with duties that include making sure that staff, patients, visitors and vendors are safe. I conduct annual drills such as fire, earthquake (participate in the National Shake-Out), state, and county with various scenarios. I make sure that the organization stays in compliance with The Joint Commission, HRSA, and CMS regarding safety and emergency preparedness. Written and updated policies and procedures regarding safety and emergency preparedness, revised Emergency Actions Plans for all five of West Oakland Health sites, perform site inspections along with Hazard Vulnerability Assessments and suicide ligature risk assessments. Train staff on emergency response, debriefing, skills and technics. Connect with community partners; like Lava Mae, Department of Public Health, EMS, The Lincoln Center to provide services and other outside healthcare centers, information and education to the community. Since being in this position a safety Committee has been formed within the organization which I lead. I have a clear understanding of the Incident Command System and present the safety and emergency preparedness portion of orientation to the new hires. I currently report directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

Front Desk Receptionist for a busy East Bay chiropractic health center specializing in Chiropractic Biophysics technique along with providing advanced chiropractic care, weight loss management, massage therapy, physical therapy and personal training. I trained and mastered Vehicle an EHR software system, maintained clear verbal and written communication which was key for this position. Performed basic computer skills, consistent team player with the following duties; answer phones and greet incoming patients and visitors, perform patient registration and insurance verification, and collect co-pays. Maintained payment logs, followed up on outstanding balances and successfully collected on those balances. Guided patients by kindly talking them through the steps and answering their questions and concerns regarding insurance, payments and services. Health Information Clerk 2005-2008

Prepared and organized all medical services for inmates and medical professionals in a highly secured setting. Duties included compiling charts for various medical specialties and dividing them into the proper inmate categories charts for all the following: sick call, transfers, physical therapy, prenatal, and dialysis numerical filing.

Served as a key member of healthcare team for a busy medical practice. Assisted two MDs as well as a PA and RN team in ensuring optimal patient care and daily functioning of medical records. Responsibilities included maintaining all medical records that encompassed replying to record request, copying charts, filing, prepare charts for all the providers, and answering the MD’s emergency line, and patient processing.
