SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Improved maintenance and operational efficiencies to 97% and 99% respectfully at NCOIC of Maintenance Operations Center USAF. Using analytical diagnostics, identified insufficient provisions to fulfill effectiveness performance expectations. Determined and implemented four additional support functions to bring performance in-line with productivity expectations.
Increased critical equipment availability to 99%, reduced MTBF 60% achieving customer on-time delivery commitments. With equipment availability at ATS dawdling at 92%, on-time customer deliveries were unsatisfactory. Defined and implemented a rigorous preventative maintenance program. Improvements included a 40% reduction in reactive maintenance hours and improved customer delivery responsiveness.
Achieved $1.2M cost savings as Wing Propulsion Superintendent USAF. Discovered faulty inspection processes and measuring criteria were forcing F108-CF-100 aircraft to fall outside allowable inspection parameters. Upon quantifying the findings, changed the inspection and measuring process so aircraft were properly cycled back into useful duty rather than set aside due to false non-compliances.
Decreased filter replacement cycles from two weeks to 14 months at FMC Technologies. Identified testing fluid was not maintained to proper cleanliness levels per NSA criteria. Using TPM, initiated and led efforts to reveal poor fluid sampling techniques were employed. Authored, implemented and conducted training with involved operators on proper fluid testing procedures. Modifications decreased filter replacement labor hours by 1200.
Improved shop labor utilization rates by 28% and obtained an annual cost savings of $534k at Cameron. Labor costs for projects were consistently exceeding plan and driving down on-time delivery results. Using Lean techniques (spaghetti diagrams), drove efforts to alter the production flow through receiving and production, implemented standardized work cells, and modified the quoting process to achieve targeted objectives.
Secured annual savings of $400k and reduced material costs 15% at Cameron. Material costs were rising and varied greatly from project to project. Identified top tiered suppliers and implemented material / service negotiation strategies. Efforts obtained favorable pricing to match budgetary expectations.
