Daimler India Commercial Vehicles
Completed an in-plant training from 3-Jan-2019 to 01-March-2019 in the SCMQ department. During this period we learnt the different phases in the overall product development cycle from the planning, product design & development, process design development, product & process validation and the final production of the job. In this, we learnt in-depth on how the process was designed and developed using Advanced Product Quality Planning. In the design phase, we learnt on how to design a product using the market research, benchmark data and product/ process assumption. And saw how the DFMEA/PFMEA were produced and learnt how to read drawings.
Hyundai Service centre
Underwent a 10-day in-plant training at Hyundai Service centre in 2018. The vehicles that came for service, gave me a comprehensive view on how to change the flywheel and clutch plate and also basic jobs like gear oil change, air filter change, engine oil change etc.. I have learnt how to perform wheel balancing and wheel alignment test (changing of camber, toe-in and out of a vehicle), changing of brake pads and brake disc and later on diesel filter change along with bleeding for both. And I’ve learnt how the jobs were organised using a system with the help of Dealer Management System where the status of each vehicle can be seen, it has information such as what repair order to the vehicle. Each vehicle has its own VIN-number and the system has the history of the vehicle details such as repair done, parts replaced etc.. PROJECT
Variable pitch unified lug-nut remover for four-wheel vehicles A unified lug-nut remover is a special-purpose tool made to tighten/loosen all the nuts of a wheel in one timeless effort. Although various methods of opening nuts are used, they require a lot of effort to open a single nut one by one. With the help of Unified lug-nut remover, we arranged to open/close all the nuts by amplifying the torque. Gears are arranged in such a way that the torque is multiplied almost twice and the main advantage is that this tool fits all wheels which have 4 lug-nuts with variable pitch. And another main objective of work is to develop a mechanism in one assembly, which can be used as a standard tool provided with a new vehicle. Also, it can be used in the assembly line of automobiles, workshops and service stations. Design and Development of Pneumatic Spring Mount for 16-tonne bus by applying Advanced Product Quality Planning at Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Here an air suspension upper mount for the 16-tonne bus is taken into account; this part had to be imported from Brazil to assemble the component, were the company requires a lot of money to purchase it. So this part is manufactured in India due to many profitable reasons such as to reduce the cost of the part, eliminate forecast lead time and reduce inventory cost and management. To localize the part, we had to adapt to our technology and change a few features in the design, then APQP and PPAP were adopted to maintain the consistency of the product and to assure that a product satisfies both internal and external customer.
