Communicated with customers to meet design requirements for OEM products. Integrated environment, health and safety regulations into process design and work practices. Developed concept layout and design of consumer plastic products from client and market specifications using 3D CAD software.

Provided 3D Printing services using FDM techniques using a broad material selection. Performed post finishing techniques on 3D printed components for mold ready prototypes. Quality Engineer, 04/2003 to 07/2014

Dickten Masch Plastics – 3401 S.E. Convenience Blvd Ankeny IA. Dispositioned rejected products, materials and equipment that did not meet specifications. Determined adjustment to certification methods, formulas, and measuring instruments required based on blueprints.

Identified and helped resolve production problems such as Work Cell Layout design. Training of production personnel on methodology and techniques. Recorded inspection and test data such as weights, temperatures, grades and quantities inspected using AQL methodologies.

Presented clear, organized data in graphs, charts, tables and written reports. Recorded defects and coordinated issue resolution with cross functional development team. Identified and helped resolve non-conforming product issues through root cause analysis, lead and maintained PFMEA groups, and design of experiment (D.O.E.).

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Reduced external ppm on for company on 6M dollar account from 24564 ppm down to 5334 ppm in less than a year. The following year same account was reduced down to 2245 ppm. Reduced external ppm for Tier I medical product customer from 5600 ppm down to zero and maintained for over two year period.

Reduced internal scrap on assigned customer accounts using extensive root cause analysis targeting work cell design and product handling.

Incorporated Poka Yoke principles to identify and eliminate production process of non-conforming parts and assemblies.

Designed inspection fixtures for PPAP-FAIR and scheduled line inspection per control plan. Incorporated attribute gages - fixtures for line personnel allowing immediate identification of non-conformances. Established and lead Power Point training for quality issues, techniques, and vocabulary for production personnel resulting in reduction of external and internal ppm. Incorporated within program explanation and use of control plans, first piece samples, and understanding of work instructions. Upon completion of sessions production personnel were brought up to speed quicker with a higher confidence level of their work and ability to identify non conformances.
