Intensive Technical Training May 2019 - July 2019

Program

As part of the Intensive Training Program,Went through in-depth training in Enterprise COBOL

forz/Oe, IBM Concepts, JCL,VeAM,CICe and DB2.

Topics covered under COBOL were structured programming concepts, advanced file handling, Table

handling, sub-routines, Reporting and Abend Handling.

Training in JCL included working with utilities like eYNCeORT, IDCAMe, IEBGENER, IEBCOPY,

IEFBR14 etc.The Training also comprised of coding multiple steps JCL’s,working with GDG’s,

working with concatenated datasets, Condition Codes,Cataloged and in stream procedures,

eymbolic parameters, Restart procedures etc.

VeAM Training included working with KeDe,EeDe&RRDe clusters, Alternate Index, Backup,

restoring VeAM files and performance tuning.

CICe Training comprised of topics such as ecreen design using BMe, Pseudo Conversation

programming, Internal CICe tables, basic CICe commands, use of TeQ and TDQ, Abend handling,

coding programs using VeAM and DB2.

DB2 Training comprised of DB2 objects, storage space, eQL statements, CUReOR, program

preparation steps, eQL Codes,performance considerations, ePUFI and QMF.

During the course of the above training we used IBM’s File-Manager (equivalent to File-Aid)

extensively. As part of the training we were groomed in creating Flow Charts, writing Pseudo code,

Constructing Test Cases etc.

Mainframe Training Project: Mini Banking Application

Over all description:

The main Objective is to developing and maintaining mini banking application which has the salient

features that a customer expect to operate without going to the bank i.e. Opening a savings account,

Opening a Fixed Deposit account, Applying for Locker facility, Applying for Loan etc.

The module which has given to me is '' OPENING AFD ACCOUNT''.

MY MODULE-OPENING AFD ACCOUNI

This module takes care of the opening and maintain of AFD account with respect to the

Customer who already exist.

The main objective of this module is to provide application for opening the FD account, validating the

customer details, Generating a unique account number, Maintaining the customer details and entries in

a DB2 Table, Calculating the interest amount for the respective Tenure(years)and printing the report.

Responsibility:

Responsible for coding both online and batch programs dealing with the FD account opening

Form, validation, interestrate calculation and report printing.

Involved in Unit testing and documentation.

The main principle in the circuit is IR Communication .Infrared (IR) is used only for the line-of-sight

communications over low range. This project is mainly used for ship navigation.
