ACADEMIC PROJECTS

• Design and fabrication of ejector for solar thermal cooling system, The aim of this project is to increase the coefficient of performance of the vapour absorption system by mounting ejector in the existing vapour absorption system. This will increase the mass flow rate of water which is responsible for the cooling effect in evaporator. We concentrated in the design and fabrication of Ejector alone.

• Design and fabrication of collapsible tent for high altitude military purposes, The aim of this project is to design and fabricate a tent which should be easy to use, easy to carry

(portable), less weight(less than 15 Kg), time for erecting the tent should be less than a minute. Design of this project is made to withstand various loads at high altitude conditions.

• Electric go kart design challenge (EGKDC), This is a contest by ISNEE focusing on designing a kart vehicle powered by electrical battery, the project consist of several subsystems like steering, power transmission, electrical, brakes & frame. The fabricated kart vehicle has to undergo various tests (static and dynamic), after evaluating the performance of various electric karts, the best vehicle is been awarded by the title.

• Energy Optimization in pretreatment Heat Exchangers (Hot water network), The project aims in reducing or minimizing the unwanted energy consumption in pre treatment process lines in paint shops at Renault Nissan Automotive India Pvt Ltd, Chennai. The project also focuses on replacing the shell and tube heat exchangers by plate type. PROJECTS UNDERGOING

• Comparative study on solar tracking methods by parabolic trough collector, The main aim of this project is to compare the efficiency of various solar tracking methods (LDR sensor, DC servo motor & a mechanical method), the efficiency is compared with the help of parabolic trough collector which heats the water flowing in the pipe located at the focal point of the parabola. Rate of heat transfer to the water is being considered to evaluate the performance of the tracking method.
