Phoenix Children's Hospital • Phoenix, AZ (2002–2019)

Trauma Coordinator 2014–2019

Managed the systematic evaluation of trauma patients in the Emergency Room (ER) and admissions.

Held full responsibility in reviewing trauma records including: charts, documentation and video review to ensure performance improvement and thoroughness of care.

Observed the hospital’s performance regarding departments and clinical services related to trauma patients, while determining the areas that needed performance improvement in individual, team, and system functions.

Created and administered multidisciplinary rounds including bi-weekly and weekly trauma meetings with all disciplines, involving advanced practice providers (APPs), nurses, case management, physical therapists (PT), occupational therapists (OT), speech therapists (ST), social work, nutrition, child life, psychiatry, psychology, and rehabilitation to review current patients and anticipate hospital needs through to discharge and rehabilitation.

Maintain active participation in multidisciplinary conferences which included morning rounds with the trauma surgeon and APP, while providing recommendations with regard to patient care to physicians, case managers, and bedside nursing.

Took part in bi-weekly and weekly meetings with the trauma medical director (TMD) and trauma program manager (TPM) to review processes; and proposed ideas and information to enhance the trauma program.

Prepared the monthly morbidity and mortality conferences involving systematic evaluation of chosen patients, while formulating the PowerPoint with needed information and timeline of care for the presentation of physicians and APPs.

Prepared the monthly the Morbidity and Mortality Conference and coordinated with the TMD and TPM in examining all loop closures and system changes.
