Duties

• Lifecycle monitoring of threatened and endangered salmon species within the Russian River Watershed. I was responsible for building fish traps, repairing broken pit tag antennas, maintaining a working crew, crew safety, uploading data and processing scientific data and statistics. I worked 70% of the day out in the field and the other 30% was office work.

• Surveying a variety of riverine habitats and species including fish, birds, and marine mammals. I used specific sampling techniques that included electrofishing, juvenile downstream migrant trapping, spawner surveys, backpack electrofishing, and beach seining. These methods were published and discussed in the Sonoma County Water Agency Biological Opinion.

• In the Russian River, we pit tag a set number of salmonids each year to understand movement, population, age structure, diet, and habitat preference. I was one of the technicians that was responsible to set up the pit tag antennas, and make sure they were operating correctly on a daily basis. Setting up the pit tag antennas required knowledge about the Bio Mark product interface.

Lynnhaven Marine. Virginia Beach, Virginia.(2005-2010)• I worked at the Lynnhaven River Inlet docks, helping kind customers gas their boats and jet skis. I would give them weather reports, fresh wate, bait and tackle. Most of the time, I was busy working on a boat project like, pressure washing, painting,and detailing.
