Architectural Design
Removed 15% of the overall construction costs of a retail chain store’s ($180K to $360K/yr.) by performing a thorough review of the drawings, making slight changes in project scope, and substituting strategic materials.
Led team to develop a design manual and construction documents for a new store prototype allowing each project to be completed 5-10 hours faster, saving the company approximately
$400 - $1000 per project.
Collaborated with in-house team and the general contractor to create a fast-track, high-impact design for a new, $10M convention center/ international welcome center, and completed it on schedule and $200K under budget.
Construction Management
Managed the construction process for up to 60 stores in one year from production of construction documents (including complete code research) to store openings throughout the contiguous United States.
Saved client (and our firm) the cost ($1K+) to install needed changes to construction project by reviewing the plans and finding the specifications identifying the general contractor as responsible to correct the problem.
Led the team to develop innovative phasing plans for contractors to remodel existing retail stores without closing the business during normal business hours. Led a team to brainstorm plans to visit 50 stores in the Midwest that were scheduled for rebranding in only three weeks that kept 3 people traveling and 1 in the office at all times. By grouping the locations into bundles client objectives were met and travel expenditures were minimized.
