Title: Design &Fabrication of Electric Motorcycle

Synopsis:

The purpose of the project was to convert a gas powered motorcycle into an electric motorcycle. Also this project allowed project team members to develop skills for the design process. The primary objective was to design to an electric motorcycle to travel a distance of 80-100 km with a speed of 60 km/h on a single battery charge. This motor cycle would be ideal to meet commuting needs as well as to operate in local operating conditions. The motor and transmission from old motorcycle was replaced with electric motor &batteries. The basic design concept used the frame of gas powered motorcycle. The motor and transmission from old motorcycle is removed and replaced with the electric motor & batteries. The electric motor kit is was selected green electric bike i.e. 48v electric motor and the batteries 12v each.
