Main Responsibilities and duties:-

Assisting the Anesthesiologists with all surgical cases inside the OR e.g. Neurosurgery, spine surgery, General surgery, orthopedics surgery, Urology surgery, Gynecology surgery, Ophthalmology and ENT, pediatrics surgery etc, as well as off site Areas including (MRI, cath lab, ICU/CCU, ER etc). Demonstrate the educational skills with anesthesia technologists and attending the patients in CODE emergencies. Responsible of stock for daily operation list and troubleshooting during or prior to any case,Level one auto rapid machines, starting IVS,drawing up and pushing medications under supervision of Anesthesiologist,checking anesthesia machines as well as trouble shooting,assisting in floating swan-ganz catheter (PA),performing ABG/TEG, setting up and drawing back from patient lines such as ART,CVP,PA lines ..

Anesthesiologist Technician Professions

Anesthesiologist Tech’s are highly skilled professionals who work cooperatively under the direction of anesthesiologists and alongside other members of the Anesthesia Care Team. Anesthesiologist assistants, also referred to as anesthetists, l earn how to test and calibrate anesthesia systems and monitors, insert catheters, intubate patients, and perform other airway management procedures. Though they cannot work independently of anesthesiologists, they are skilled in the delivery and maintenance of quality anesthesia care and services.

Sr. Anesthesia Technician job description

To operate as part of the anesthesia team by assisting the anesthesiologist in the administration and maintenance of general and regional anesthesia by maintaining, calibrating, and troubleshooting the various equipment used, also by stocking and maintaining par levels of all anesthesia supplies and drugs

Performance and competencies:-

•Direct clinical support of all other technicians when patient acuity /complexity of surgery are high. •Ensure readiness of all anesthesia equipment’s including off site anesthetic delivery areas. •Establish and maintain difficult airway equipment CART. •Establish and maintain malignant hyperthermia CART. •Ensure that all supplies and materials required for safe anesthesia practices are available in all occasions used for anesthesia including remote areas (MRI -Endoscopy - Ct, etc.)

General Description of the Job Class

1). Clean anesthesia machines, monitors and equipment following procedures established by Infection Control.

2). Perform a variety of technical and supportive patient care tasks to assist attending anesthesiologists, residents and nurse anesthetists in performing anesthetic procedures for patients ranging from infancy to geriatrics.

3). Performs routine and delegated duties according to departmental policies.

Duties and Responsibilities of this Level

be sure about clean anesthesia machines, monitors and equipment following procedures established by Infection Control.

Preparation of airway management including setting up and calibrating monitoring devices; troubleshoot anesthesia equipment malfunctions, routing non-functional equipment to the proper department for repair.

Assist anesthesia providers using aseptic or sterile technique with non-invasive and invasive patient procedures including peripheral and/or central intravenous

And/or arterial line placement; airway management techniques including mask, end-tracheal and/or emergency methods and regional anesthesia techniques

Assist anesthesia providers with physiological monitoring of patients notifying the anesthesiologists of abnormal changes in vital signs and/or physical appearance of the patient

Stock anesthesia supplies in all anesthetizing locations including ploss carts, fiber optic carts, emergency airway bags and any other anesthesia supply location.

Communicate with patients while helping prepare them for anesthesia to explain procedures, allay fears and elicit patient cooperation. Participate in non-charged calming conversations.

Establish and maintain good working relationships with other members of the health care team.

Physical abilities to complete job duties which include lifting, standing, walking, ability to push, pull, climb, stoop, kneel, reach overhead and rotate trunk for prolonged periods.
