Selected Responsibilities and Accomplishments

Managed all aspects of a company including development of business and marketing plans, recruitment, hiring and training of staff, budgeting, P&L, scheduling work and activities, establishing policies and procedures, procurement of equipment and supplies, performance evaluations, client services and motivation of employees.

Improved product quality and personal productivity through new standard operating procedures that required the previous shift to not leave until the new arrived. Each shift would then sign-off on machine and raw material conditions before beginning work eliminated the preexisting condition argument.

Reduced OSHA recordable injuries through implementation of a comprehensive Safety Program incorporating wall-to-wall inspections, accident investigation, ongoing safety training, use of personal protective equipment, and creation of a formalized Safety Committee with representatives from each department. Achieved an excellent safety record with no accidents in 3 years.

Reduced production waste through a new policy whereby waste from each operator machine was weighed with attached Operator ID#. This led to improved operator training, improvements to production machinery and processes and a savings of over $500K for the company.

Enhanced morale through promotion of a team-based work atmosphere. Provided assignments of increased responsibility along with opportunities for additional training and performance incentives that encouraged a sense of ownership in the overall operation.

Succeeded in extending printing plate life up to 500% by creating a new plate condition report in which each associated employee signs-in and describes the condition of the plate they are using. Use of this new template saved the company over $200K in potential downtime costs.

Reduced operating costs over $7.5K by re-negotiating with vendors on bulk purchase of solvents used in production. Provided better monthly volume purchase opportunities for better product pricing. Succeeded in attaining high quality solvents at a good price.

Researched best practices and identified a process that would allow us to recycle all inks and solvents. Reduced hazardous waste by 75% through use of this new equipment attaining recycled solvents that could be used for cleaning. Accomplished an annual cost savings for this change of over $100K.

Increased shipping efficiency and cash flow by partnering with the supplies originator to store our needs and keep our inventory stocked in a Just in Time fashion. This also freed up space in our facility and provided a consignment inventory.

Reduced downtimes by partnering with the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) to attain service maintenance agreements on complex machinery. This formalized Preventative Maintenance Program ensured all machinery was working to optimum specification, virtually eliminating breakdowns.

Created a workable operations budget through review of historical financial data, sales plan goals, promotions, upcoming new products, as well as current and future planned projects. Succeeded in developing budgets that met the needs of the company.

Boosted productivity and product quality significantly through implementation of new standard operating procedures along with process improvement changes to the workflow. Product quality improved over $1M while labor costs fell $1M due to better Time Management policies.
