Initiated and incorporated a unit based council for peer interviewing and policy and procedure review
Redesigned the staffing model in SPD to include a case cart tech that is a liaison for the OR and SPD The tech is rounding in the OR to intervene any need for supplies or instrumentation for the cases. The tech also checks subsequent cases to insure accuracy
JCAHO Mock Survey Committee: March 2008 passed JCAHO without any recommendations
Member of various committees: OR Efficiency Committee, “Turn-Over Time” has decreased from 40 minutes to 25-30 minutes; Physician Relations Committee, currently OR volume has increased ytd; SCIP Committee, score for Antibiotics given within 60 minutes of incision has increased from 80% to 95%
