My role involves approaching new clients to find out their requirements in terms of fit outs or maintenance. I also attend to the needs of our existing clients. will meet them, find out what their needs are, they, I will visit site then build the BOQ if required, get costs from sub-contractors, compare the costs then price the BOQ, I am involved throughout the negotiations then when we have won the project. Complete the H&S documents programme of works etc. Then I over see the project making sure it's running on programme attending client/ progress meeting, to make sure there is a successful handover to the client. I am also over seeing our maintenance teams making sure all calls are logged, completed on time and to the required standards, deal with all complaints and make sure payment has been received.

I am currently working on the education side of Havelock, dealing with the FF&E to various main Contractors across the UK. I have just finished projects across the UK £120k and £2m

I am working on the 2 biggest projects that Havelock have had in the last 6 years, Levenmouth and Inverness both valued at over £2m each, I have to work within the clients programme have design meetings with the client and end user to discuss colours materials for all loose and fixed furniture, co-ordinate our sub-contractors to make sure they compete there works, push the factory for our materials and make sure the quality is acceptable, arrange the deliveries, controlling our costs and complete the O&M file

2008 - March 2012 Morris & Spottiswood

Contracts Manager (key account manager)

Looking after the Co-op Refurbishments from £5k - £1.2 million. This involved attending scoping meetings, assisting the estimator, doing detailed programmes along with phase drawings, dealing with risk and method statements and safety plans, organising labour, ordering materials, dealing with site issues and overseeing works due in the contract including site meetings.

Client hand-over, completing all snagging, extras and O&M file within 2 weeks of completion. All of the above were fast track.

During peak periods I was dealing with seven live refits all over Scotland and controlled seven different working foremen, direct labour, agency and both sub and direct contractors. The nature of this work and the pressing time constraints meant that all my projects involved nightshift to allow the shop to trade through the day.

Looked after shop front regeneration projects in Gourock, Greenock and Port Glasgow. The value of these came to £250K This involved working very closely with the local shop owners, detailed programming, to renew shop fronts, signage and decoration works

I looked after River Clyde Homes refurbishments and Maintenance. This involved burnt out shells, voids work and planned works i.e. Kitchen/bathrooms and reactive maintenance. Also it involved liaising with client and organising a scope of works assisting the QS in estimating job costs from £2k - £45k

The Reactive clients I also dealt with were McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Subway and Burger King which also involved minor planned works and maintenance. Essential to this was meeting with clients and arranging costs and labour appropriate to the job
