SolidWorks software was used for the design and detailing of parts and assemblies used in a prototype bin fan unit and a revolutionary grain bin heating and cooling system.

Microsoft Office Professional software has been used: Word extensively for letters, faxes, email, Engineering Change Orders and project reports; Excel spreadsheets have been used for tracking fuel consumption, project costing and time reports.

Vendor supplied software has been used in the compressor selection process and to determine the drive components required for the cooling system design.

Principal Projects and Responsibilities:

1.Worked with the Director of Engineering on a new grain bin fan unit and a new grain bin heating and cooling dryer system

2.Made recommendations as to types of materials to be used and fabrication techniques to be utilized for part production.

3.Evaluated and made recommendations for purchased parts used in our product; mechanical, electrical and plumbing components.

4.Used the CADD system to do component and assembly layouts, 3D models, final production drawings including electrical schematics and diagrams for use by production personnel and equipment operators.

May 1973 to Oct. 2017: Brock Grain Systems, Frankfort, IN; a Division of CTB, Inc, Milford, IN.

Software Usage:

Inventor Design software by Autodesk was used for the past 12 years for the design and detailing of parts and assemblies used in a line of grain dryers.

JD Edwards software was used for adding new parts into the inventory system; developed and executed ECOs thru the JD system; monitored inventory levels and assisted Customer Fulfillment Department in completing customer orders.

Microsoft Office Professional software was used Word extensively for letters, faxes, email, Engineering Change Orders and project reports. Excel spreadsheets were used for tracking fuel consumption, chain drive torque and horsepower requirements, project costing and time reports.

Vendor supplied software was used to aid in the fan selection process and to determine the drive components required for each dryer.

Desktop publishing software was used in conjunction with a digital camera to develop assembly manuals for overseas installations. The desktop publishing was also helpful in developing decals for either special dryers or foreign wording.

Principal Projects and Responsibilities:

1.Worked with the Director of Engineering on a new dryer prototype. I did the final design, drafting and documentation on the framework, fan assembly and loading system.

2.Supervised the layout design efforts; made recommendations as to types of materials to be used and fabrication techniques to be utilized for part production.

3.Evaluated and made recommendations for purchased parts used in our product; mechanical, electrical and plumbing components.

4.Used the CADD system to do component and assembly layouts, 3D models, final production drawings including electrical schematics and diagrams for use by production personnel and equipment operators.

5. Set up our dryer product line in the JD Edwards Configurator for order entry. Developed a spreadsheet that mimics the Configurator for testing of the selection logic before the models were actually loaded into the program.

6.Developed, reviewed and revised materials for inclusion in our Owners/Operators manuals.
