P.O.Box 333 – 40105,

Maseno, KENYA

September 22nd 2019

I/C HR

IAU

College of Nursing,

Dammam, SAUDI ARABIA

Dear Sir,

Re: Application for the Position of Associate/Assistant Professor of Chemistry at IAU I wish to be considered for the above vacancy published online by Post Jobs Free on September 11,2019.

I am an experienced educationist with a solid background in natural sciences and pedagogics. I had my basic, secondary and higher education in Kenya followed by three level university training in Moscow Russia. I am a holder of MSc (Hons) and PhD both in Inorganic Chemistry from Russian Peoples’ Friendship University, Moscow. I communicate effectively in English, Russian Kiswahili and Luo languages.

My work experience since 1986 has been for the most part with Moi and Maseno Universities in Kenya. In 1990-1991 I spent a busy sabbatical year at the Department of Chemistry of Louisiana State University, USA.

I have worked on part-time basis for Kenya Institute of Education (KIE now KICD) curriculum development, Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) – evaluation - dealing with examinations in Chemistry at secondary and diploma levels.

Between 2005 and 2007 I served the Department of Chemistry of the University of Swaziland

(UNISWA) as External Examiner. Further, I have served Kenyatta University, Kenya, for four years between 2011 and 2015 in a similar capacity.

Sir, I am a passionate pedagogue and I am interested in state of the art research in material sciences. I am confident that my training and experience in chemistry is suitable for instruction in General Chemistry that is essential for nurses and will synergize with your teams and laboratory facilities at your college if granted this opportunity. I therefore wish to be considered for the position of Associate/ Assistant Professor of Chemistry at IAU College of Nursing, Dammam, SAUDI ARABIA. I hope you will favorably consider my application and give me a feedback at your earliest convenience. Yours sincerely,

Prof. Alexander O. Okoth
