Lab Instructor & Marker, Intermediate Accounting
Schulich School of Business September 2019 - Present
• Instructing one 1.5-hour lab session/week for an Intermediate Accounting course in order to strengthen students’ understanding of concepts learned during lectures. Lab content includes reviewing technical material, going through various textbook questions and other exercises
• Striving to effectively address students’ needs by utilizing various teaching techniques to help improve student engagement; integrating real-life applications or personal experiences to make concepts clearer; and facilitating collaboration within the classroom to build connections between students. Islamic Relief – Charity Week (CW) March 2019 - Present Selected as one of the (volunteering) Institutional Support recruiters/liaisons for GTA, relating to Islamic Relief’s Charity Week. CW is an annual international week-long event in which organizations (with IR’s help) undertake fundraising activities for social causes
• Presented and pitched CW to two different organizations – York MSA (Muslim Students Association) and Glendon MSA – with a focus on mutual objectives and the synergistic effects of teaming up. Both organizations have confirmed participation for CW 2019
• Maintaining ongoing communication with organizational leaders to better understand their resource needs and effectively address requests or concerns

Schulich Master Programs Committee (MPC) September 2018 – April 2019 Elected as the Accounting Ambassador for MPC - an organization focused on improving Master-level programs at Schulich by reviewing academic curriculums, enhancing career development opportunities and holistically improving the student experience
• Gathered concerns and ideas from students within the MAcc program and presented recommendations to the leadership body, including the Associate Dean and Department Heads
• Voiced a common academic concern for MAcc students that Management Accounting material is insufficiently covered within the program. This idea has led to a quick change in curriculum and admission requirements, aimed at helping students better prepare for their CFE exam and career as a CPA. NEW GRADUATE - ASPIRING ACCOUNTANT
