Duties as an Automation Engineer include - Installation of Nachi, Fanuc and Denso robots and program for material handling operations, maintain assembly lines, design cellular manufacturing layout, update Injection Molding Machine(IMM) prints, program PLC and HMI, mount cameras and sensors, install conveyors, build degate stations and use heavy machinery if required.

Key Contributions:

Revamped assembly line design and reduced the cycle time per product by 5 seconds, thus increasing the production by 11 %, which is about eight parts/Hour.

Designed Robots to install on top of molding press (previously placed next to press on floor) and implemented inclined cleated conveyor in place of a flat conveyor. By redesigning cell layout, was able to decrease space occupied by a press.

Installed nipper with air supply from a valve stack and programmed robots with necessary outputs and positions, to cut the gate on parts from molding to increase the consistency of the cut compared to that of a manual operation.
