Duties and Responsibilities

General assessment of patients

History collection from patients or relatives

Giving psychological support to patients and relatives

Prepare case sheets and plan of action

Give orientation to patients and relatives

Assist physician in detail examination of patient

Collect the specimens for the prescribed investigations, send to the appropriate department and collect the reports

Calculation of medicine dosages

Insert intravascular lines

Oral and Parental administration of medicine

Assist physician in procedures such as wound debridement and dressing, lumbar puncture, central venous catheterisation, dialysis catheterisation, intra-arterial catheterisation bone marrow aspiration and FNAC specimen collection.

Intra-arterial blood pressure monitoring

Care of surgical,neurosurgical, vascular surgical, medical, neuro-medical, gastroenterological patients

Care of unconscious and semiconscious patients

Collection and correction of ABG

Assist in Endo tracheal intubations

CPR Ambuing

Giving defibrillator shock

Care of ventilator patients

Administration of drugs like dopamine, dobutamine, adrenaline, nor adrenaline, nitroglycerine etc.

Prepare the patient for surgery, physically and legally

Hand over the patient to the OT staff

Planning and providing support and nursing care to people who have a range of mental health issues.

Support people with issues ranging from anxiety and depression to personality and eating disorders to drugs or alcohol.
