ACADEMIC PROJECT DETAILS

Title: Design, Analysis and simulation of 6 dof Pick and Place Robotic Arm.

Description: Robot manipulator is an essential motion subsystem component of robotic system for positioning, orientating object so that robot can perform useful task. The main objectives of this project are to design and implement a 6-DOF pick and place robotic arm. This project can be self-operational in controlling, stating with simple tasks such as gripping, lifting, placing and releasing. Articulated arm consists of revolute joints that allowed angular movement between adjacent joint. Six servo motors were used in this project to perform Six degree of freedom (6-DOF). There are numerous dimensions over which robotic arms can be evaluated, such as torque, payload, speed, range, repeatability and cost, to name a few.

Title: Design and analysis of helical Gear and its Mechanism with Different Materials.

Description: In this project a helical gear is modeled in 3D modeling software Solid works. Structural, Fatigue, Thermal and Modal analysis is done in Ansys.From the structural analysis results, the stress value is less for Aluminum alloy A360 than Ni Cr Mo Steel but the deformation is more. By observing the fatigue analysis results, the damage is less for Aluminum alloy A360. By observing the thermal analysis results, the heat flux is more for steel than Aluminum alloy A360. So it can be concluded from the analysis and weight, using Aluminum alloy A360 is better for helical gear.
