Bachelor’s Degree, Chemical Engineering Chicago, IL
• 3.61/4.0 GPA
• Certified in Safer Design, Chemical Process Industries, and Reactivity Hazards from the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. WORKS / PROJECTS
The Way of the Future: Hydrogen Fuel Production to Power the Next Generation of Vehicles
• 1st Place Winner: 2019 UIC Engineering Expo in the Petrochemical Category.
• Fuel grade hydrogen production with carbon capture unit to reduce overall CO2 emissions by 80% and sold to power hydrogen powered trains.
• Lead in the design and simulation of the production plant using ASPEN Plus, illustrating the Process Flow Diagram (PFD) with Microsoft Visio, and implementing safety control loops for the development of the Piping & Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) of overall operation.
• Supervised market analysis, cost analysis, and sizing of equipment, as well as HAZOP analysis to insure proper safeguard redundancy. Styrene Production
• Designed, simulated and presented the dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene process to produce styrene.
• Utilized ASPEN process simulator to simulate complete PFD.
• Performed energy and mass balances, as well as contributed to economic analysis. Vinyl-Chloride Process
• Selected proper materials of production for individual units to withstand temperature, pressure, and corrosion.
• Developed process plant control systems required for safe production, and conducted HAZOP analysis to observe potential consequences.
• Utilized Visio software to obtain PFD’s and P&ID of before and after heat integration of the overall process. Gas Subcooled Process Design
• Performed detailed heat and mass balances of a GSP plant operating in an ethane recovery mode.
• Determined proper sizing of De-Methanizer unit to achieve target of 90% ethane recovery from the bottoms of the unit (NGL).
• Capital and Operating Costs were determined using the ASPEN Plus economic evaluator. Dynamic Modeling of Depressurization
• Developed a dynamic model for the depressurization of a natural gas pipeline.
• Prepared plots for gas and wall temperature and pressure of the tank as a function of time using Athena Visual Studio (Fortran coding).
• Calculated the time required for the flow through the ASME pressure relief valve to become subcritical. SKILLS & INTERESTS
