Client : National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) Cost of Project :INR 2639 Crores

Main Project Features:

● Four Lanning of Goa / Karnataka Border to Kundapur section of NH-17 from Km 93.700 to Km 283.300.

● Realignment is about 20 km stretch to avoid existing Geometric deficiencies.

● Twin Tunnel Stretch at chainage 106+150 at Karwar.

● 14 Nos. of major Bridges and 39 Nos. of minor Bridges.

● 2 Nos. of Railway Over Bridges and 1 Nos. of Railway under Bridges.

● 3 Nos. Flyovers at Karwar, Honnavar and Bhatkal. RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Junior Engineer, was responsible for construction execution and supervision, evaluation & construction of the project and coordinate with higher authorities in organization. Also responsible for Project preparation and implementation activities related to my section at karwar for 30kms, checking and review of all the Designs being prepared, ensuring execution of works on site as per specification and standards. Was directly responsible for a Major Bridge construction across Kali river with 770m length having 5 Piers and span of 20m with a balanced cantilever in construction, was responsible from initiation stage to completion stage of bridge with major responsibility of piling over 90 piles and substructure and superstructure work with post stressing of deck slab with box structure, and regulating the construction processes i.e. also worked with starting phase of Tunneling activity in project at Karwar, various roadwork activities and structural works, executing work program methodology ensuring proper traffic management measures and safety norms, approve safety plan, working drawings, mix designs of concrete. monitor and check day to day quality control of works, prepare DPR and billing documents for subcontractors as per the Concession Agreement, Scheduling work for continuous progress of work at site. Provided advise to the contractor on project planning activities. Also responsible for ensuring road safety during construction.

Responsibilities:

As a site engineer worked in initiation phase of project, where planning and foundation work survey was done, was majorly involved in execution of fundamental excavation work to the foundation work, familiar with concrete work and scheduling the work as per specification and drawings provided, managing site labours, executing and recording daily progress and maintaining DPR for construction, managing billing work with progressive quantity and communicating with senior engineer and architects for change in scope of work, and maintaining safety at work for labour and surrounding site.
