GENERAL ELECTRICAL DUTIES

Responsible for electrical maintance of all equipment’s, machinery and plant as directed by the engineering supervisor and engineering manager.

Troubleshoot and repair of all mechanical and electrical equipment’s

Insure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment’s by completing maintenance requirements both planned and unplanned of utility systems to provide continuously supply of heat, steam, cooling electric power and air for production and operation services.

Insure that all electric lighting is maintained all the time.

Using of test equipment’s and tools such as multimeter, testers & tong testers to troubleshoot and fix electrical problems

Checking and testing of circuitbreakers, overload units and contactors and Replace them with

good ones wherever required.

Travelling to locations on site and working both indoors and outdoors

Co-ordinating with other tradesman when require for new projects

Always promoting good working practice and excellence.

Mentoring junior staff, buddying apprentices checking their work and reporting on their progress.

Assembling, installing, maintaining and repair of Air compressors and air conditioners in all BP and Total felling stations.

Installation of uninterrupted power supplies (UPS) in all Telecom Networks Malawi and Airtel Malawi Network Towers

GENERAL REFRIGERATION DUTIES

Maintenance and servicing of ammonia refrigeration plant and equipment

Maintaining, service and repair of refrigeration systems and equipment’s such as condensing units, compressors, cold rooms, bulk freezers and ammonia flooded evaporators.

Confer with operators and observers to diagnose cause of malfunction.

Disassembling of machinery and equipment to remove faulty parts and replace with good ones.

Making adjustments required to maintain refrigeration and utility systems with the required temperatures.

Connection of all electrical power systems.

Preventive maintenance and emergency repairs.

Installation of Ammonia detection systems in factories that uses Ammonia gas as a refrigerant

Hot gas defrost systems, temperature control wiring (Danfoss & Carel controllers

Wiring of electrical control panels and temperature controllers for flooded ammonia evaporators, bulk freezers, holding chillers and freon gas systems.

Installation of electrical cooking pots for food producing companies.

Industrial and Domestic electrical and Basic plumbing installations. EXTRA DUTIES,

Basic plumbing for Hotels.

Basic argon gas and arc welding.
