Performs audits focused on internal controls, fraud prevention and detection, and effectiveness and efficiency of University of Tennessee system-wide programs in conformance with Office of Audit & Compliance (OAC) policies and Institute of Internal Auditors' (IIA) International Standards.

Conducted audits of the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture (UTIA) extension programs.

Conducted comprehensive audit of the University Chancellor travel and entertainment expenses.

Established and led centralized Fiscal Monitoring Unit (FMU) utilizing two professional staff and 200 indirect program staff at the Washington State Department of Health. As a Pass-through awarding agency of over half billion dollars of Federal Grant Funding monitored subrecipients for subaward contract terms and conditions and compliance with applicable Federal and State regulations, which includes OMB Circular 2 CFR 200.

Created the statewide strategy, vision and policies for conducting desk reviews and onsite fiscal monitoring visits to conform with the newly enacted OMB Federal Uniform Guidance 2 CFR 200.

Developed scope of work through a monitoring tool both for desk and onsite monitoring reviews.

Staffed, developed and trained three agency Fiscal Monitoring Specialist positions.

Developed agency-wide exit interview program and gathered and reported data to Executive Management.

Served as backup to the agency Director of Human Resources.

Conducted 360-degree staff interviews with audit teams throughout the state, summarized the data and reported trends, results and solutions to Executive Management.

Statewide Assistant Audit Manager – School Programs (Olympia)

Promoted to develop a new team of 3 to 5 K-12 Audit Resolution and Special Education Specialists per new million-dollar biennial appropriation from the Washington State Legislature. For this work the School Programs team received the annual SAO “Outstanding Team Award”.

Assisted in the design of audit approach, performing analysis of state-wide data for use in determining the selection of school districts for K-12 and Special Education audits statewide.

Performed review of draft audit reports and work papers to verify the sufficiency of evidence supporting conclusions and recommendations.
