Role Responsibility: Go out with surveyor for boat inspection around the Cape Town region. Assist with office work, filing, issue certificates, seamen book, answer calls and follow ups.

Company: Greenpeace vessel (“Rainbow Warrior 3”)
Duration: 16 February 2015 (Cape Town to Australia via Port Elizabeth and Durban) until 18 June 2015 disembark at New Caledonia after doing humanitarian work in Vanuatu.
Role Responsibility: Vessel maintenance, watch keeping duties and clean environment campaigns. Worked with World Health Organisation and United Nations in Vanuatu to assist the Island after it was hit by “Cyclone Pam” in 13 March 2015.

The nature of my diploma course Maritime Studies has prepared me for this position. It involved a great deal of independent and team work, requiring initiative, self-motivation and a wide range of skills and an understanding of the shipping industry is essential. I found this subject very stimulating.
