Heather Barnard is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Duke University in Durham, NC, and is anticipated to graduate in 2021. Heather currently holds a Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner from Samford University which she earned in 2016. Prior to earning her masters degree from Samford, she also graduated from USC Upstate with a BS in Nursing in 2011 as well as a BS in Health, Exercise, & Sports Science from The Military College of South Carolina, The Citadel in 2009.

Throughout Heathers full-time educational pursuits over the last ten years she has also held multiple full-time positions to include: Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioner and Family Practice Nurse Practitioner. She has experience as a registered nurse in critical care settings, the emergency department, and as a nurse educator.
