October 2015 IT Operating System Consultant, Optum.

To Present Duties included supporting business processes, maps and schedules that executed in Sterling Integrator 5.204. As part of the SI team, I functioned as one of 3 administrators responsible for setting up and deleting User Ids and mailboxes in the application, setting up Inventory Ids to deliver and pickup files for clients and performing application upgrades and patches.

To December 2014 Duties included supporting batch and online COBOL programs for IWCC. As a senior public service administrator, I was responsible for making changes to COBOL programs that accessed DB2 and/or IMS databases to fix productions problems or deploy system enhancements. One of the daily functions included monitor batch jobs, and make JCL changes to correct problems in the nightly batch schedule.

To June 2014 Duties included developing and implementing application enhancements and production fixes using full life-cycle methodology (SLDC). Coded COBOL batch SQL programs for Electronic State Reporting applications for EDI transaction sets 824, 837 and 997. On one project, I recommended an EDI translator for the company and was involved in the proof-of-concept. When the translator (Sterling Integrator 5.201) was installed for EDI and XML, it saved the company over 60K annually. I worked on application upgrades, applying patches and executing DR scripts for SI. As part of the EDI project, I wrote batch programs to process acknowledgement files from the translator for the legacy system. I also was a member of the Electronic State Reporting (ESR) team where I developed all of the EDI inbound and outbound translation maps (148, 824, 837, 997 and 999).

To April 2004 Duties included writing unit test scripts, coding batch COBOL programs that used DATACOM to access the customer information. Also, as part of the promotional allowance project, I assisted other consultants with JCL concepts related to the job card, procedure and parameter member(s) that pertained to IBM utilities.

To July 1992 Duties included writing batch and online program specifications, developing unit test cases and testing DB2 programs with embedded SQL for the Order Management System (OMS) using CICS, VSAM, APS, APS Macros, Changeman and COBOL. I assisted the senior technical staff with the prototyping of the OMS. I wrote 10 new batch programs and 6 new online programs, setup procedures and migrated programs along with their components into production. I coded several FOCUS programs as part of OMS as part of the archive / retrieval process, and used QMF to create adhoc reports for end-users.

For the EDI group, I wrote and tested JCL to retrieve trading partner data and store it in the SQL databases via split files that were processed using GENTRAN on IBM in batch mode. Also, I wrote a shipment tracking program to monitor merchandise that left various warehouses, wrote other applications programs to accommodate VICS, UCS and MOTOR standards on the EDI network for purchase orders and invoices.

To October 1988 Duties included updating the Vendor Quality system to Telon 1.5, developing unit and system test scripts, maintaining and supporting the Automated Batch Release and Batch Tracking systems in the QC/manufacturing area using COBOL with IMS DB/DC access.
