American Buildings Co. – Production Engineer - Eufaula, AL 1997-1998

Worked as a production structural engineer designing many different types of steel structures (i.e. warehouses, churches, industrial facilities, etc.).

All designs that were generated were based on the local building codes such as Standard Building Code, Uniform Building Code, Metal Building Manufacturers Association, American Institute of Steel Construction, et. al.

Oversaw drawing generation and documentation of all jobs that I designed to maintain continuity of design.

Checked other engineer’s designs for correctness and continuity of design.

Designed in excess of 200 steel structures while at American Buildings Co in 30+ different states and in 8 different countries.

Phillips Engineering – Civil Engineer/Surveyor - Sylvania, AL 1998-1999

In charge of survey crew doing various surveys (i.e. boundary, topographic, level loops, road layout, drainage layout, septic layout, etc.)

Worked in the field laying out surveys based on known facts and deeds, and then generated actual layout via drawings from the field facts.

Designed and laid out small septic/sewer system based on drainage requirements and Alabama Health Department requirements.

Laid out slabs and anchor bolt placement for actual construction projects.

OSI Inc. – Vice-President, Engineering - Montgomery, AL 1999-2016

In charge of all estimating and engineering personnel and the work that they do.

All jobs are designed in accordance with governing building codes of the locality (International Building Code, Uniform Building Code, Florida Building Code, et.al.)

All designs were generated using Metal Building Software (MBS), which check most aspects of the steel structures that OSI Inc. sells. Any portion of the design that does not fall under the MBS umbrella of design is either hand calculated or checked based on another structural design program.

Check all drawings that were sent from OSI Inc. to make sure that continuity of my design had been achieved and is clearly stated.

Very extensive “field experience” on many buildings. If problems occur on any job, or any need for engineering experience arises, I was the OSI representative for onsite visits and meetings.

Questions or concerns that occur in the field were all directed to me for my approval as the Professional Engineer of the metal building.
