INTRODUCTION

Lucinda Moonieya has accumulated twenty-five years experience in Organizational Communication and has delivered immeasurable results in the communications’ sphere across the education, energy, health, legal and telecommunication sectors for the Private and Public Sectors. Lucinda’s professional career commenced with humble beginnings in the IT Sector, Public Relations and Small Business Management, she has consistently provided end-to-end communication programmes, both internally and externally to various institutions / organizations. Lucinda has served both Public And Private Sectors in roles such as Deputy Spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority, positioning the organization and building strong relationships with all external stakeholders including national and international media.

During a stint in the media office, Lucinda had established the first ever fully fledged media office for the National Prosecuting Authority which included development of a media database, media enquiry mailbox (with timely turnaround times) and media library to ensure records for audit purposes. Crisis communication was well executed in her role for Directorate of Special operations as it was being incorporated into South African Police Services and engaging in relationship building with Unions as she monitored the media landscape and analyzing the reputational risk to the department with proactive communication.

Lucinda assumed the role of PR manager during the listing of the ‘Scorpions’ brand as it was listed as one of SA’s top brands in 2007.

In 2015, Lucinda elevated the role communication as the Communication stream lead on a national project for the National Health Laboratory Services initiating all external relations, often on behalf of the CEO and offered strategic communication solutions directly him.

In leading the communication on the project, all engagements between national offices were coordinated and research done in the different provinces to understand their needs in order to implement the communication strategy nationally.

Her experience encompasses strategic corporate communications, public relations, reputation management and content development in the legal, telecommunication education and energy sectors. In 2017, Lucinda Joined John Snow Inc, funded by USAID and PEPFAR to provide Strategic Information for South Africa (on health) as PR Officer with the responsibility of preparing all communication material for stakeholders in-line with corporate identity standards for publication and dissemination. This role included development of key messaging for the project, which was achieved with a team headed by Communication. Lucinda specializes in being results driven.
