KMTT Project Details:

Kaladan Multi Modal Transit Transport Project (KMTTP) is envisaged by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) of India. The MEA appointed the Inland Waterways Transport Authority (IWAI) of India as a Project Development Consultant. The MEA awarded the work to M/s ESSAR Projects (India) Limited (EPIL). IWAI appointed Scott Wilson India Private Limited (SWI) for supervision consultancy services. The project consists of Dredging, construction of IWT Jetty & Port Jetty with approaches at Sittwe and IWT Jetty at Paletwa.

Major Components:

Dredging in Access Channel & Port Basin at Sittwe & Hydrography Survey works

Construction of Rubble Mounted Dyke 500 M long at Sittwe for reclamation area

Dredging in Navigational Channel along the Kaladan River from Kyauktaw to Paletwa

Erection / Commissioning & maintenance of Navigational Aids in the Access Channel at Sittwe and Along the Navigation Channel from Sittwe to Paletwa

219 M long, 15.2 M wide Port Jetty suitable for general cargo vessel of 20,000 DWT along with 136 M long 9.5 M wide Approach Trestle
