Target driven is part of who I am, and I amused to working towards targets as I had to do it for most of my work life so far. I build long lasting relationships and ger the job done in a professional manner. I have worked in an office environment and am used to the pressure and deadlines. Clicks Constantia Cape Town – March 2005 – Feb 2013

Cosmetic Consultant (Permanent)

Duties:

I ran the cosmetic and skincare section that comprised of 10 different color cosmetic brands, four cabinets of designer fragrance and 10 brands of exclusive skincare ranges.

I was responsible for advising clients about the various skincare needs and requirements. It was important to get it right to establish a good relationship with the client and ensure a return sale from them. Recommending a bad product or giving a client a reaction from your lack of knowledge and bad judgement can ruin a relationship. These are women that trust you with a great asset of theirs.

I place huge emphasis on customer service. That is how I built up my clientele. I checked admin invoices for my stock deliveries, promotional queries, stock take, ordering, correcting stock balance, dealing with the reps for each brand and head office staff when they did store visits (including the CEO who did visits about once a year)

I dealt with the figures and targets for each brand each month and attended meetings and training sessions on an ongoing basis. I did product training with new staff members that joined my section. Knowledge is essential for new staff as clients trust you. I dealt with the roll out of new ranges or highlighted skincare ranges by direct instruction from the skincare house concerned.

I used to place orders for my colour and skincare stock for up coming promotions.

We did a small stock take count every morning to consistently keep our shrinkage low. It corrected the balances and allowed my through a back office system called the JDA system, to see what stock the warehouse had, what stock other stores had and allowed me to correct my stock figures.

Visual merchandising was a big part of my duties as well. We had pre planned planogrammes for each section of the store and adhered to them strictly. Including the roll out of new color stock on the main stands or on the floor stands.

During my time at Clicks in this capacity I also underwent management training and picked up some good skills on that level that I can add to my abilities.

Below is a list of brands that I worked with:

Bioderma Garnier Revlon Loreal Nyx

Eucerin Uriage Maybelline Maxfactor Charlie

Loreal Vichy Yardley Essence

Almay Neutrogena Michellori Rimmel

Nivea Designer Fragrances

I was also part of Supervisor and Management training during my time at Clicks. Below is a summary of what I did.

During my management training, I was signed off as a Supervisor. This entailed running the shop front and floor, scheduling staff routines throughout the day, supervising the end of day with the cash up, making sure the staff adhered to their set out routine timeously, trained new staff who were to be cashiers, did the store change over every second Sunday to get ready for the promotion breaking the following week.

For my management training (which I did for 9 months) I scheduled the monthly staff roster, did the cashing up, ordering of cash from COIN, dealt with demands and emails from head office, interviewed potential staff members, took part in stock take prep and roll out, ordered stock for up coming promotions, checked the price changes each mornings, checked the pamphlets and new ticketing for the roll out of a new promotion, assisted with the bringing in of warehouse through our receiving bay and the signing off thereof, I took the minutes of staff meetings held once a week, I checked the invoices from suppliers and tallied up the staffs working hours on there clock cards. I ran the store over the December period and got a lot of experience on a management level in doing that. I was also a mediator for staff altercations and the store First Aider. I attended to any complaints, queries or compliments and I also saw to various inter store transfers.

Reason for leaving – Personal reasons nothing to do with the company or the staff
