President & Owner of John H Brown Jr. MD PC
While managing the inpatient rehabilitation unit in Boynton Beach, Fl., I developed increasing right foot pain. Subsequently, I was evaluated by two prominent orthopedic surgeons and was diagnosed with a post-operative complication of right metatarsal head avascular necrosis. Both surgeons recommended that I return home to Charleston and have the original Orthopedic surgeon remove all of the surgical hardware in my right foot. Subsequently, I returned to Charleston on 4/15/18 and underwent another right foot surgery. This required a substantial period of non-weight bearing post-operatively followed by a cam boot for several weeks; thereafter a very lengthy physical therapy regime ensued prior to being cleared to return to work very recently.
