2018 Recipient, 2018-2019 Resident International Anesthesia Scholarship – The American Society of Anesthesiologists Global Humanitarian Outreach (GHO)
The American Society of Anesthesiologists Global Humanitarian Outreach (GHO) committee offers a scholarship program for U.S. Anesthesiology residents to spend a month in a resource poor setting. Residents will have the opportunity to experience the challenges of delivering safe anesthesia in a low-resource, underserved area in a developing country as well as participate in the training and education of local anesthesia providers.

2011 Recipient, University of California, San Diego, School of Medicine – The Bud Whipple Scholarship
The scholarship is established by UCSD Medical Alumni Association Class of 1981 in the memory of Bud Whipple, a former medical student with Marfan’s Syndrome who died unexpectedly in his third year from a dissecting aneurysm and who was loved for his human kindness, and throughout his life, he made the most of his abilities in a selfless manner. The scholarship is awarded to one second year UC San Diego medical student who must earn the respect of his or her classmates and faculty by growing through adversity in life and who demonstrates an unselfish commitment to others, outstanding character, and displayed exceptional human kindness to his/her colleagues and patients.
