Senior Safety Engineer, PAE Government Services, serving at the US Antarctic Program’s three permanent stations with the National Science Foundation. Duties include: Program and regulatory compliance for construction, transportation, general industry, maritime safety. Worked with crews on confined space, scaffold, elevated work, heavy equipment operations, excavations, industrial hygiene, waste management, crane operations/rigging, incident investigations, etc.
Instrumental in the culture improvement and integration of ESH in the everyday processing of the Antarctica Program facilities.

Duties included maintaining compliance with the Philotechnics Safety & Health Manual, Quality Assurance Manual and shipping/transportation procedures, and all associated regulatory compliance. Responsible for compliance in Construction and General Industry Standards in the areas of confined space, excavations, scaffolding, hoisting/lifting, heavy equipment operations, elevated work, ladder safety, recordkeeping, etc.
Formed the position and responsible for overall safety of all operations. Initial primary focus was manufacturing facility injury reductions, upgrades and safety & efficiency improvements. Within two years the injury rates were reduced by 75% and less than half the national average for the manufacturing division.
