Position Summary as a Teacher
Plan and provide developmental and linguistically appropriate curriculum and experiences that advance all areas of children's learning (social, emotional, cognitive, physical, mathematics, English and Spanish literacy) in a manner appropriate to age and stage of development.
Work in a classroom setting with typically and atypically developing children.
Understand and apply child development theories.
Prepare weekly lesson plans, including Individual Child’s Plan.
Develop materials and conduct activities related to cultural background of the children in order to increase the children's respect and understanding of their own and other cultures.
Provide a safe, healthy, and well-managed environment, so that children will have comfortable learning and growing learning experiences.
Provide an environment of acceptance, support, and respect for diversity including gender, culture, language, ethnicity, family composition and disabilities.
Gather and maintain individual, family and classroom data for documentation, on-going assessment, evaluation, and record keeping for successful individual and program planning.
To do referrals for children with milestone delay
Actively participate as a member of integrated teams working on behalf of children and families, including participation in Family Team Meetings, IEP/IFSP meetings, etc.
