Wildland Restoration Crew Leader – Montana Conservation Corps – Kalispell, MT
– January – August, 2019
As a Wildland Restoration Crew Leader was the primary liaison between regional staff and public land project partners in Montana and Idaho. Primary focus was the identification, treatment, and inventory of invasive plant species throughout endangered landscapes in the Northern Rockies ecosystem. Project work integrated restoration efforts, stream restoration, water quality monitoring, mapping, data collection, and revegetation projects.
• Responsibilities included but were not limited to restoration worksite management, professional herbicide and right-of-way applicator license, GPS data collection and record keeping, and the maintenance of relationships with Glacier National Park’s Service, the Forest Service, and other professionals.
• Solo leader was responsible for the development and oversight of three WRT Members, implementation of the MCC mission statement and programmatic objectives including delivery of the educational curriculum.
• WRT Leader required a higher level of self-direction and independent decision making abilities.
