Job Details:

• Support the Project Managers commitment to a “Zero Accident” safe working environment in accordance with the company and project Consultant Bechtel and Client Royal Commission requirements, specifications, legal HSE requirements and other obligations.

• Organize and coordinate, the safety team site activities, assignments and performance.

• Interact directly with the Client/ Consultants on a regular and professional basis.

• Write and transmit Safety reports to the Project Manager, Consultant/Client and HSE Department Manager.

Implement Health, Safety & Environmental Program.

• Impart training to construction staff.

• Prepare Hazard Identification Plan / JSA / Risk Assessment /Method Statements.

• Create awareness of safety among the construction staff and workforce.

• Identify, evaluate and control safety, health, and environmental hazards.

• Conduct daily safety inspections and monitor safety performance.

• Prepare and implement procedures and plans. Example; excavation, confined space entry, working at height, fire protection, medical services, emergency, evacuation, etc.

• Compile accident statistics and ensure KPIs are attained.

• Implementation of the use of personal protective safety equipment (PPE) within the workforce.

• Investigate incidents/accidents and take remedial measures.

• Attend project safety meetings and present reports.

• Monitor and modify safety techniques to achieve zero injuries, zero accident.

• Inspect the work site daily and correct unsafe methods and conditions.

• Keep and maintain HSE records.

• Carry out site surveys and inspections to see that only safe work methods are in operation, health and safety requirements are being observed.

• Welfare and first aid facilities are adequate and properly maintained.

• Suggest and implement ways to prevent injury to personnel, damage to site facility or equipment and fires.

• Implement Safety procedures.

• Ensure the entire Safety team is conducting regular JSAs and Risk Assessments for tasks.

• Provide guidance and mentoring to workforce and staff in regards to Safe Work practices and requirements.

• Continually improve personal knowledge of Safety, Health, and Environmental issues.

• Coordinate with project personnel as directed by the Project Manager or HSE

• Department Manager HO.

• Report Safety issues through the established project communication protocol.

• Ensure the Camp accommodation is regularly inspected and identified HSE deficiencies are acted on and rectified.

• Implement the Companies OSHAS 18001:2008 safety management system along with specific Client project requirements.
