Provide claim administrative services for all plans of coverage issued by the Agency to certificate holders. Assist insured with complex claim problems by telephone or written communication. Handles incoming telephone calls according to established standards. Provide accurate information on all plans, administered by the AMA Insurance Agency. Verify benefits for all products administered by the Agency. Research and respond to difficult calls and complaints regarding Agency/Carrier claim handling. Updates and maintain accurate policy records on the CAMS and CAPS Systems. Handles wavier of premium transactions, cancellations due to death and other claims related issues, claim payment, eligibly verification and medical benefits information to Physicians and their family members as well as providers. Insurance Polices included Catastrophic Major Medical, Term Life, Long Term Care, Medicare Supplements, Office Overhead Expense, Accidental Death and Dismemberment, Health Savings Account and Disability coverage, as well as claims submitted and paid claims. Duties included billing for the outpatient clinic charges that include the technical and the professional charges. I also follow up with the insurance companies for timely payment to the hospital. Trouble-shooting problems in requesting medical records, per-existing condition information and confirming coordinating other insurance benefits. Worked an interoffice computer system custom designed for hospital insurance billing, logging and retaining demographic information on patient’s providers, insurance company’s payments and denials, as well as medical records.

Patient Account Representative, my duties were to collect on accounts balances not paid by patient or their insurance companies. This included communicating to the patient their finical responsibility for their medical services. I explored ways to assist patient in making payment arrangements and referrals to charity and government agencies. There were several types of communication/investigation used to find liability for injuries: auto, farm equipment accidents through telephone calls, monthly statements, and letters. Investigate third party insurance liability, responsible parties, insurance agents, legal guardianship and attorneys. Prepare liens for possible Court proceedings
