BOEING COMPANY, DESIGN ENGINEER

Designed and developed automated test systems.

KEY PROJECT ACHIEVEMENTS:

• Automated OATP. Designed Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems for aircraft hydraulics, avionics and electrical subsystems. Collaborated with the responsible engineer, production mechanic and the OATPs (On Aircraft Test Procedure) to design systems the mechanic could use to efficiently perform the OATP, which was previously taking months to complete. Specified and incorporated all materials for the testing of the aircraft control system and wrote all documentation necessary for the users to perform the OATP. Assisted production with implementation and demonstrated SCADA control systems for customers. Utilized Allen Bradley HMI and PLC software.

• Aircraft Propulsion Data Management Computer (APDMC) Test System. Mechanics requested a SCADA system to automate the verification of proper output signals from the Throttle Leaver Angle and Engine Probe Heater. Researched OATP to determine the specific communication signals that required verification. Wrote C++ program to detect and display ARINC 429 data bus signal for Throttle Leaver Angle and Engine Probe Heater. Integrated and configured a 429 ARINC card into the SCADA system to perform data acquisition. Utilized Microsoft C++, Allen Bradley HMI and PLC software.

• Aircraft Surface Control Movement System. Mechanics requested a system to move all the flight control surfaces. Reviewed data and developed a SCADA system to allow the mechanic to operate each fight control surface. Coordinated with flight control engineers to determine the parameters necessary to operate the surface, and designed programmable logic controller (PLC) and touch screen based system to execute this task. Utilized Allen Bradley HMI and PLC software.

• Hydraulic Fill and Bleed Control System. Developed SCADA system to give mechanic functional control of aircraft hydraulic fill and bleed system while staying within OSHA guidelines. Researched aircraft hydraulic fill and bleed system and established parameters to control the system. Wrote programmable logic controller (PLC) program to provide the necessary parameters to control the system, and integrated 422 communication protocols to handle the 500 feet distance requirement. Wrote operator interface program to provide control and visual indication for all fluid level and pressures. Tested and demonstrated system for customer and provided all interface documentation. Utilized Microsoft C++, Allen Bradley HMI and PLC software.

• Access Control System. Developed an Access Control System per OSHA guidelines utilizing Alarm Lock PDK 3000 badge reader and DL-Windows lock database software. Specified and ordered all necessary hardware and software to complete the system. Designed and developed access control circuit, and programmed PDK 3000 badge reader to read company badges. Utilized Alarm Lock configuration software.

• Work Stand Communication System. Designed communication system that will allow mechanics to communicate with each other. Researched components from David Clark and developed functional requirements for each communication system. Created detailed interface drawing for each system, ordered all necessary hardware and trained production personnel on the use of the communication system. Utilized Allen Bradley HMI and PLC software. MCDONNELL DOUGLAS COMPANY, TEST ENGINEER

Designed system to test electrical subassemblies/wire harness for the C17, MD80 and MD11 aircraft. Designed and developed a system to test the electrical subassemblies/wire harness. Developed test system compatible with FACT system; collaborated with the engineer responsible for each subassembly/harness, analyzed all wiring information, and put into a mainframe database to be utilized by the new test system.

Designed and developed all interface cabling; utilized the mainframe data design interface cables for all electrical subassemblies/harness.

Utilized Time Sharing Operating System B (TSOB) to set up all the necessary datasets to convert engineering access database wire information to FACT system standard, and generated mainframe test program.

Utilized PSpice (Personal Simulation Program) with MATHLAB/Simulink for simulation and verification of analog and mixed-signal circuits for the C-17, MD-80 and MD-11 electrical subassembly. Designed test equipment to test the high frequency and power conversion components for aircraft electrical subassemblies

RAYTHEON, TEST ENGINEER

Designed test programs to test electrical subassemblies. Designed and maintained all interface cabling.
