RE: Expression of Interest for Senior Grants and Finance Officer Position

I am writing to express my interest in the Senior Grants & Finance Officer position for the anticipated USAID Gambia Malaria Elimination Activity (GMEA) with Jhpiego, as advertised on October 19, 2024. With a solid background in grant and financial management in development projects at the West Africa Relief and Development Association (WARDA). I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to the GMEA’s objective of supporting The Gambia’s National Malaria Control Program (NMCP) in achieving malaria elimination.

I hold relevant qualifications in business administration and am currently pursuing more further studies in project management and finance. With over six years of experience managing grants, I bring a strong grasp of USAID regulations and compliance requirements. In my role as Programs Manager at the West Africa Relief & Development Association, I led biggest projects ever in WARDA’s history from pre-award through close-out stages, working directly with local partners and government officials. I have developed and managed budgeting processes, ensured adherence to strict donor standards, and overseen rigorous financial reporting and audit processes.

In addition to technical skills, I offer a track record of capacity building with local partners, including training, mentoring, and providing hands-on support to ensure sound grant stewardship and compliance. I am adept at managing financial transactions, preparing reports, and collaborating with diverse stakeholders to align grant activities with broader public health goals.

I am enthusiastic about Jhpiego’s commitment to achieving sustainable health solutions through community-based approaches and am eager to bring my skills in finance, compliance, and partner engagement to this role. I look forward to discussing how my background aligns with Jhpiego’s mission and how I can support the success of the GMEA project.
