Experience:
2015 to 2022 – American Transmission – Parts Manager
Managed 30 employees and was responsible for overseeing purchases, developed programs to charge out parts on a work order, and installed a cap to ensure parts cost did not overrun the profit/loss of the transmission build. Also developed programs to insert parts on the repair order using redundancy factors. Recognizing that the same parts were being used, I made a kit with these parts and relabeled it as one part number. This provided easier inventory control and less chance for post error.
2006 – 2015 – Jerry Hamm Chevrolet - Parts Manager
Managed 12 employees and was responsible for parts sales, reordering, inventory management, and budget for the parts department. I was a member of the General Motors Parts Guild for two years 2009-2010.
2001-2006 – American Transmission – Parts Salesman
This position allowed me to venture into multiple types of parts sales including mechanical garages. Worked with 85 employees which created a diverse type of atmosphere to broaden my sales education in the auto parts field. Successfully moved the company to automated repair orders to decrease inventory problems.
1984 to 2001 – Prestige Pontiac – Buddy Hutchinson Pontiac – Morrison Pontiac – Parts Salesman
I worked in the wholesale parts area selling parts to garages and collision repair shops. During my time in this position, I was instrumental in building the business into a multimillion-dollar wholesale business which included delivering to several states.
Inventories Inc. 1975 – current – Owner
I created this company to provide audits to automobile dealer parts departments which provides an inventory dollar amount that allows them to compare their business parts inventory value to the office books.
Inventory Control Systems software: Fluent in several parts of inventory control systems: Reynolds and Reynolds Dealer Management System, ADP, Dealertrak, and UCS which is now Power.
Awards/Certificates: General Motors Employee of the Year: 2006, 2007, 2010
Interest/hobbies: Volunteer and assist our Pastor at church whenever possible. I also enjoy bike riding, Kayaking, and a variety of water sports. Involved in neighborhood revitalization and maintenance.
