Thesis: Biochemical, genotoxic and cytotoxic effects of Entomopathogenic Fungi on Spodoptera litura (Fabricius). 10+ Publications.
Isolated various fungi from different biological sources and their subsequent screening for determination of their insecticidal potential.
Selected fungi were Identified on morphological and molecular basis and performed their toxicity and environment safety studies.
Toxicity of selected strains were evaluated on insects (S. litura) and mammals (CHO cell lines, Wistar albino rat) by in vitro and in vivo studies by employing genotoxicity (comet assay or single cell gel electrophoresis, chromosomal aberrations, micronuclei assay), cytotoxicity (cell viabilities studies under light and fluorescent microscope, scanning electron microscopic studies) and biochemical parameters (enzymes assays).
Identified various metabolites in fungal extracts by UHPLC and LC-MS studies.
Extraction and partial purification of fungal metabolites by employing different organic solvents.
Checked genotoxicity of environment pollutants such as azo dyes, on rat via MANDEEPKAUR
chromosomal aberration assay, by utilizing rat bone marrow.
