Manager of Operation, Senior Hearts Rescue and Renewal (501(c)(3) non-profit) Founded in 2016, Senior Hearts mission is to save the lives of senior dogs through a proven renewal and placement process giving their seniors a high quality of life in loving homes. Working with the owner’s (Google) team Mr. Pavitt was successful in ensuring the General Contractors (GC) safety program was executed in line with the client requirements. Further, assisting GE and contractors with accident investigations and root cause analysis.

Applied strategic guidance on safety needs for mission critical clients. Including, but not limited to development and implementation of safety management systems, robust electrical systems and permitting protocols.

Senior Safety Consultant. Merck Pharmaceuticals. Providing consulting services on behalf of Merck to include; developing a centralized permit system/process for high risk work. Working with the owner’s team Mr. Pavitt was responsible for overseeing the GC’s health and safety during the construction of multiple projects and ensuring the owners safety management requirements were followed and embedded into the GC’s safety program. Projects consisted of $500 million new builds to $50 million retrofits. During Mr. Pavitt’s tenure the safety performance established a drop in the recordable rate from 3.9 to its closure of 0.5 TRIFR, with zero Lost Times. Instrumental in developing and Implementing Hatch’s safety program while performing work for US Steel as the EPCM contractor. Work involved both new construction and projects within the operational steel mills.

Developed a plant safety management system (policies, procedures and permits) encompassing all regulatory, Hatch and client requirements resulting in zero recordable incidents with a 25 percent increase in near miss reporting.

Developed a safety management system adhering to OSHAS 18001, staffed the project with safety professionals and managed contractor safety pre-qualifications for a

$3 billion expansion project for Kinross Gold, resulting in 11 million hours worked with only one lost time incident.

Developed and facilitated safety leadership training and behavioral programs for Anglo American and Rio Tinto.

Led safety on the installation of a new ball mill resulting in zero recordable incidents. This included reviewing and approving subcontractor work permits.

Performed safety program gap analyses at global mining companies resulting in 20% reduction in accidents.
