2009 – 2024 Rental Property Management -- handled management of the building of new houses as well as ongoing maintenance and finding tenants. Dealt with legal and financial aspects of the business. Properties were in the United States, South Africa and Costa Rica. 2005 – 2019 Project Management & Marketing – developed websites (HTML, basic Java, Wordpress), handled social media campaigns, printed advertising material, revenue forecasting, budgeting and accounting. Took photos for social media campaigns and shot and produced videos for a theatre group.

Ran youth camps for up to 200 children and their parents, many of the children had either learning or physical disabilities which prevented them from going to normal camps. We catered for special diets, differing abilities and cultural differences. 1999 – 2005 Database and Front End Development – maintained networks and computers for sales organisation in the financial field, developed Visual Basic front-ends for clients in the financial and human resource fields.

1994 – 1999 Progressive Systems

System Development and Support -- managed online service supplying financial data to clients. Wrote software to allow clients to download and update their systems. Provided support for both clients and in-house computer systems, some hardware and all software. Developed Visual Basic front-end software to manage sales team’s clients base and lead followup.

Skills and Personal

I am a US citizen, but have travelled extensively and lived in both Asia and Africa. My computer programming and business/management background has exposed me to software from databases to excel, from accounting packages to MS Office. While working in marketing for the theatre group, I also learned to use graphics arts packages to produce the media for promotions. I easily learn new software and have kept financial records for several clients. I am a good writer and communicator, started and ran a 250 family network for 15 years while my children were in school. I also ran informal information sessions and wrote articles to assist families with children who were having difficulty learning in school environments. I speak, read and write German and Spanish at a conversational level but would need to practice more to use them for work on a regular basis. I speak Japanese to a conversational level and having lived in Japan for several years, have cultural knowledge of Asia. Having lived in South Africa for many years, I have extensive knowledge of those cultures as well.
