Manager, Staffing and University Relations at Monsanto Agricultural Company 1989 – 1995 (6 years)
Agriculture and Biotechnology industry
Among broad recruitment responsibilities and challenges for the world’s largest multinational agricultural biotechnology corporation --established and launched a significant one-of-a-kind diversity recruitment process and pipeline effort in an agricultural industry sorely lacking in a diverse employee representation, beyond farm labor jobs, starting in the 1989 timeframe. Created, established and improved viable and actionable linkage through partnerships, mentoring and support, over a six year period (with Monsanto and beyond), with the top 22 college Agricultural Programs in the country--inclusive of Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and Hispanic serving colleges and universities via the Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences (MANRRS) national organization and local chapters. I am a widely recognized and respected facilitator and keynote speaker pioneering outstanding diversity outcomes in education; employment and leadership (see Honors and Awards based on performance and accomplishments).

Key facilitating role in the staffing effort for the largest defense contract in the history of defense programs, in the 1980s -- the $20.8 billion B-1B Bomber Program. As a recruiter, project manager and, eventually, staffing manager I played a lead role in facilitating the hiring of 5,420 highly talented professionals in a twelve-month period. Hiring top hourly and technical professionals in production manufacturing, engineering, research and development, business, program management—from entry-level, line, mid-level and senior management. Led a history making recruitment team that hired an average of 5,000 high tech professionals per year for three (3) consecutive years at Rockwell International’s North American Aircraft Operations (NAAO) Division in Southern California. A feat unheard of and unmatched in any industry, earning the accolade, in 1988, of "Team’s Top Recruiter,” from then North American Aircraft Division, President, Sam F. Iacobellis (Retired). Awarded the Rockwell International PRIDE AWARD for Human Resources —the highest award given by Rockwell International - North American Aircraft Operations for performance to an HR executive.
Not-For-Profit industry - Minority Community Based Organization
Project Director at Mexican American Opportunity Foundation (MAOF) 1977 – 1981 (4 years)
MAOF is the nation's largest Latino y Latina not-for-profit serving social services minority community based organization offering childcare and job skills training, rehabilitation, career counseling, career fairs and job placement for minorities, women, the disadvantaged, and the hardcore unemployable throughout California--into traditional and non-traditional jobs across all industries. Directed Prisoner Rehabilitation Program - Cooperative Training & Employment Program (CTEP) - in concert with the California Department of Corrections and the Federal Government(LEAA)--and Corporate California, e.g., Xerox, IBM, Hewitt Packard, JC Penny, etc. Project included counseling, training and job placement for 100 inmates per year for a three and a half year period. Primary participants were Mexican American and African American inmates, but also included Caucasian inmates as well. Accomplished 92% job placement for ex-offenders with only 9% recidivism which is considered the best in the nation--as compared to State/National recidivism rates of 60%-70% per year. However, “Prop 13”—produced the famous and infamous Tax Revolt in California which defunded many social services programs including this outstanding program at the California Correctional Center in Susanville, CA. Returned to Los Angeles w/MAOF and directed the Highways Supportive Services Program (HSSP) in concert with CALTRANS (California Department of Transportation) and the Federal Government which was tied into the building of the Century Freeway. HSSP placed women, minorities, and the disadvantaged into training (apprenticeships) and jobs in the construction industry. They gained apprenticeships and joined several unions serving highway and commercial construction work. Left HSSP when MAOF's president, Dionicio Morales, recommended me to Rockwell International Executive Management for the B1-B Bomber Program.
