UNITED STATES, 577 U.S. __ (2016), Issues: (1) Whether the “law-of-the-case” doctrine requires sufficiency of the evidence in a criminal case to be measured against the elements described in the jury instructions where the Government is required to prove additional and stringer elements than the actual statute or indictment? (2) Whether a "statute-of-limitations defense" - not raised at or before trial - is reviewable on appeal? Presided as Judge at the 23rd Thurgood Marshall Moot Court (March 18, 2020), DC superior Court Case: UNITED STATES ex rel. BART SIMPSON (a qui tam relator complaint No 18CV002689). Issues: (1) Did Specialty Pharmacy, Inc. knowingly violate the Anti-Kickback Statute, 42 U.S.C. § 1320a-7b(b) by making charitable contributions to Duff Charity?
