Hierarchical Text Classification integrating Knowledge Graph – Thesis Graduation Project Jan 2024 – Aug 2024

• Description: Built a deep learning model to predict hierarchical labels for Vietnamese news articles from VNExpress. The model combines a BERT-based text encoder with a Graph Convolutional Network for knowledge-based label prediction.

• Key Features:

Data Processing: Cleaned and preprocessed Vietnamese text data using named entity recognition (NER) and removed stop words to prepare articles for model input.

Model Design: Constructed a model using a BERT encoder for text representation and a GCN to model hierarchical label dependencies. The architecture also integrates dropout layers and linear layers for final classification.

Model Training: Trained the model using gradient scaling and early stopping techniques to avoid overfitting. The performance was evaluated using accuracy, F1-score, precision, and recall metrics.

• Description: Developed a deep learning model to classify age and gender using the Adience benchmark dataset. The model was built using a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) architecture and trained on image data.

Data Processing: Loaded and combined multiple folds of the Adience dataset, cleaning the data for model training.

CNN Model Design: Constructed a CNN with multiple convolutional, pooling, and normalization layers, followed by fully connected layers for classification.

Model Training: Trained the model using early stopping to prevent overfitting, achieving classification of images into one of 8 categories.
