Volunteer Activities
Music & Liturgy Ministry – I have been involved with Music Ministry within the Catholic Church for over 30 years. Have helped at times with coordinating and / or scheduling cantors and accompanists for funerals, liturgies and weddings. For a time maintained cantor binders and have mentored cantors. Helped with music planning for liturgies. Have helped with subbing to direct the choir when needed. Have helped with planning music for ACTS retreats and masses. Have also been on the ACTS Team and Prince of Peace Core Team in the past. I have cantored at various Parishes and Places throughout the Archdiocese. Within recent years I have helped with music planning for some liturgies at Holy Name Passionist Retreat Center as well as helped as Sacristan.
From the early part of 2011 to August of 2013 I’ve helped with music planning for weekly
Liturgies (under the supervision of Dr. Lopez) for St. Mary’s Parish in La Porte.
I volunteer at times at St. Dominic Center (Chancery) to help with music library and
any administrative work for Office of Worship
(Gathering workshop materials, etc.).
Assisted with the administrative duties of the Archdiocesan Choir of Galveston Houston. In the past a weekly bulletin went to the choir members. Have helped with maintenance & the update of the ADC rehearsal schedule and have help with distribution of music or pertinent information as well as any administrative work.
Parishioner of Prince of Peace Catholic Community where I was very involved with the life of this community. I have served this community liturgically through many ministries such as cantor, as lector, as EMHC sub. I’ve helped with community events, festivals, cooking, as well as serving our community with support to retreats. Also, I have helped with community outreach: food pantry, Thanksgiving food drive. I am also a parishioner of All Saints Catholic Church where I serve as Cantor and Lector. Serve as Cantor usually once a month at Warren Chapel on the campus of St. Dominic Village.
Event coordinating – Kitchen help at ACTS retreats, dinners for Gala winners, music and entertainment for Spring festival.
I am a member of the Community of Passionist Partners – the Community of Passionist Partners is a group of lay men and women and professed Passionists partnering with Holy Cross Province, who formally commit to share in the charism of St. Paul of the Cross, through a contemplative prayer life, ongoing spiritual formation, and profession of the message of Christ crucified.
Within the past two years I have been part of a team that produced a stage & radio production of the play “Right Angles” A Polish American Christmas Comedy in Two Acts. Built an audience and raised the funding for these productions.
