JOB DESCRIPTION

Carry out maintenance and repairs of various types of Rotating Equipments such as Gas Generators and Turbines, Air and Gas Compressors, Pumps, Gear Boxes, Emergency Generators and Firewater Pumps. This includes regular monitoring and rectifications of defective equipment. Carries out independently or under instruction.

Leading and assisting vendor representative during preventive, corrective, breakdown, shutdown, turnaround maintenance in the Super Complex.

Routine maintenance and repairs of Firewater Pumps and Emergency Generator Caterpillar Engine. Regular tasks include monitoring the engines and auxiliary equipment, conducting periodic inspections, and ensuring that all machinery is lubricated and functioning at optimum levels. Performs engine startup, priming pump, adjusting engine speed and pump valves, laying hose, appropriate nozzle use, effective use of water and additives. Inspects, checks, services and adjusts the pump, hose lays, tank and reels for equipment readiness.

Attends requests from Direct Supervisor for maintenance of different rotating equipment and packages like gas turbines, gas compressors, gear boxes, diesel engines, air compressors, various pumps, mechanical seals, Dry Gas seals, Fan coolers, auxiliary systems of rotating equipments, utility packages and material handling equipments.

Carry out Level 1 (4,000 hrs) and level 2 (25,000 hrs) maintenance of GE Gas Turbine (LM 2500+). This includes Water Wash, Borescope of Axial Compressor, Combustor and Gas Generator, Visual Inspection of Primary, Secondary and Tertiary air Intake Filters, Changing of Filters, Inspection of Chip Detectors of Sumps and gear boxes..

Performing scheduled maintenance and inspections on a variety of Caterpillar Engines specifically C 175-20 and C3508. Collaborating with the broader team to ensure the efficient and effective operation of Caterpillar equipment. Maintaining detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities. Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.

Able to read, draw & understand mechanical drawings, cross sectional drawings, Piping & instrument diagram.

Multi skill to carryout different activities at the same time to avoid impact on production and HSE.

Performs installation and mechanical alignment of equipment such as pumps, compressors, gas turbines, using relevant tools including computerized laser alignment tools.

Monitors and measures vibrations readings level and keeps records for each unit, including detecting abnormalities, analyzing problems and recommending corrective actions.

Uses and ensures safe use of proper tools and tackles on the job by assigned workforce.

Checks and verifies tools, spares and other materials for conformity with the order for its acceptance and fitness for use, on arrival of items.

Conducts safety toolbox talk before job execution, attends group safety meetings, conducts safety observation tours and reports incidents and near-misses.

Carry out Replacement of Pumps Mechanical Seal and Bearings.

Carry out planned PMs of rotating equipment and auxiliaries according to prepared job plans which includes strainer cleaning, lube oil replacement, air filters / fuel filters replacement, collecting samples for lube oil analysis

Assists various rotating equipment vendors for conducting stage inspections and overhauls for eg. rotor replacements, boroscopic inspection, level 1 & 2 inspections of gas turbines.

Suspending activities when there is a potential or actual threat to human life, the installation or the environment, and notify forthwith the responsible supervisor.

Carry out Laser Alignment of Pumps and Motors using Rotalign Smart Ex.

Carry out vibration monitoring for Rotating equipments using Scout.

Carry out Replacement of GE Gas Compressor Bundle (358 BCL and 438 BCL) including Dry Gas Seal, journal Bearing and Thrust Bearing.

Strict adherence to Plant Safety Protocols including Plant housekeeping.

Responsible for the support of company safety, environment, policies and programs.

Follow correct torque procedure in tightening of bolts.

Work closely with Contractor to ensure compliance to codes and standards during start-up of the Plants and Commissioning.

Witnessed Pumps performance, temperature and pressure during the entire testing, this includes leak checks, housekeeping and preservation of the equipment. Informed the Direct Supervisor for any abnormalities during the tests.
