Nuclear Electrician / Southern Nuclear – Plant Hatch

Responsible for preventive/routine maintenance on all plant systems. System components included AC and DC motors from 120 - 4160 vac and 125 vdc. Other components included are power distribution switchgear (600 – 4160 vac, 125 – 250 vdc). Replace/repair components such as solenoid valves, MCCB, low and high voltage wire terminations, various switches, heating elements, filter material and many other electrical devices. Troubleshooting energized and non-energized equipment. Utilized proper testing equipment for safety purposes, troubleshooting, and functionality. Efficient in daily use of computers for job assignments and instructions, ordering parts, surveillance of safety/fire systems, lockout/tagout/clearance and maintaining required training. Interpreting drawing/prints for preparation of safe work tasks and conditions.

My job duties were to maintain the proper function of college facilities, including boiler maintenance, fire protection systems upkeep, air compressors and evaluation of backup generator equipment. I performed electrical, plumbing, minor HVAC repairs and some material fabrication. General and preventive maintenance including lubrication application, replacement of worn parts, and set-up and break-down procedures. I also performed grounds work including lawn care, lawn tractor, irrigation, motor vehicle and fork lift operation and maintenance.

SEPT. 1995 – AUG. 2004 Cellular Repair Tech II / Alltel Communications I performed all phone troubleshooting, repairs, and installations in Vidalia, Waycross, and Glennville, Georgia Alltel locations. I generated all paperwork and computer records for all repairs, parts ordered and sold, and loaner phone inventory. Maintained orderly, safe, and clean shop environment and the proper function of all tools, testing equipment, and phone upgrading equipment. Some of the work I performed was off-site which required driving a company van. Scheduling maintenance for the van was also my responsibility.
